What do you Pay for the Labor to Build Your Products?
Accurate reporting of shop floor labor is the basis for managing a cost effective manufacturing operation. Q*ADC's Labor Tracking module reduces the amount of time required to input production data, while improving data accuracy, and making this data available for real-time queries, reporting and standard vs. actual cost analysis.
Production personnel can enter labor and part completion data and backflush operations with minimal effort. Barcodes and/or machine integration can be used to generate production transactions into QAD and to automate the movement of goods through Work Order operations.
An employee typically scans the following information to start an operation: Operation Start, Employee Number, Work Order Number, Line Number, and Operation Number. During the Operation Stop sequence, the employee will automatically be prompted for Number of Pieces Completed, Scrapped, Held, etc. Automatic stops may be triggered by the start of the next operation sequence; likewise, automatic starts may be triggered by the stop of the previous operation sequence. Operators may be placed in several classifications, including batch, tooling, inspection, outside processing, etc. User prompts may be customized by operation.
QAD is automatically updated with labor hours, machine hours, completed and scrapped quantities and manufacturing completions. If Q*ADC's Time & Attendance is used, direct and indirect labor hours can be reconciled against payroll hours. Indirect labor can be automatically posted to QAD in the assigned Accounting Group Codes. Supervisor review, maintenance and approval of all labor transactions are also available, if desired. Complete transaction history and exception reporting capabilities are standard. Labor Tracking also supports crew-based transactions and work cell labor collection, and can split Work Order time using several allocation methods.
Other data may also be captured while labor is reported, such as Lot & Serial Numbers, Parts Moved Between Operations, Machine Downtime and Reason Codes, Machine Usage, Queue Building or Operators Out of Work, Scrap Reasons, and Held Work Orders with Reason and Location.
