Q*ADC Drives Supply Chain Productivity
Shipping
The customer's final measure of a vendor’s performance is based on the accurate, on-time shipment of goods. Q*ADC Shipping takes the guesswork out of ensuring that your shipments are complete and correct. Q*ADC supports all QAD shipping methods and provides unique features that can streamline this vital operation. Q*ADC does not impose fixed shipping procedures, but rather maps to your unique procedures. Orders can be picked via FIFO/FEFO, by lot, or by location and picks can be either pick-list printed and/or downloaded directly to the picking terminal. Once a truck’s load is verified, and the shipment is completed, Q*ADC can automatically generate any number of additional transactions, using those same verification scans.
Automatically, BOL and shipping paperwork can be generated, a transfer to the yard can occur to await the carrier, and an ASN release can follow; all without further commands. Q*ADC shipping transactions also integrate with Loftware to generate customer-specific shipping labels using QAD Sales Order data…all automatically.
Receiving
The timely and accurate tracking of receipts is an important control component of a streamlined manufacturing operation. As vendor shipments are received at the dock, the receiving operator scans the bar-coded materials to capture the purchase order number, part numbers, lot/serial numbers and quantities received. If a particular vendor does not apply labels to their materials, receiving labels may be generated at the dock from the QAD database. Or, using Loftware's Internet Printing capability, your vendor can print your receiving labels at their facility and apply them to your orders. All they need is an Internet connection and a local printer to generate labels in seconds. The materials can then be assigned a put-away location by the user, the QAD item default location, or issued directly to the floor. Labels may include standard stock status codes, such as inspection, direct issue, stock and discrepancy. If an incoming part is back-ordered, the operator can immediately issue to a Work Order upon receipt. QAD Purchase Order Receipts are updated, as is QAD Inventory.
Inventory
Timely inventory status is critical in a competitive manufacturing environment. Q*ADC expedites movement and increases inventory data accuracy. Materials personnel can transfer, issue and adjust QAD inventories using barcodes or RFID tags, eliminating paperwork and manual data entry. The Radley IntelliLabel option can produce serialized barcode "license plate" labels for items, containers and mixed pallets at any place in the inventory tracking process. Users can then record any data to be associated with the IntelliLabel... such as item, quantity, lot/serial, weight etc. ...all of which automatically follow that transaction without additional scans and all validated for accuracy. Any QAD transaction for all the underlying items and their related data can be generated in real time by a single IntelliLabel scan!
Cycle Counting and Physical Inventory processes are also automated. The system will generate bar coded item lists, or download cycle count items to a handheld portable terminal. Users scan the items and enter quantities in the locations identified for counting. Inventories may be updated as the counts are performed. Manual tag printing and variance reporting can be eliminated when all transactions are performed on the portable terminal.
