Q*ADC WorkForce Director
Productivity
Today’s manufacturers are competing with cheaper labor and lower costs. As never before, we are challenged to be more productive -- to do more with less. Increasing productivity requires allocating your resources wisely and efficiently.
What’s important...
When there are more tasks to perform than workers to perform them it is critical that the available workers are focused on the tasks that are of highest value. Q*ADC’s optional WorkForce Director accelerates the productivity gains achieved with Q*ADC by directing your workforce, via mobile or desktop computers, to perform tasks based on predetermined priorities.
You make the rules...
WorkForce Director’s watch dog monitors a customer-defined set of business rules, key performance indicators, drop directories, inventory levels, schedules, etc., to identify new task requirements. As tasks are generated they are deposited into a task pool, and then, based on priority, operator capabilities, work zones, authorization/security level and equipment requirements, are distributed from the pool to the appropriate worker.
Use what you have...
Most ERP or distribution applications generate picklists for shipments or order fulfillment. These picklists can be dropped into the WorkForce Director which then distributes them to the appropriate workers. These workers are then directed via their mobile device the appropriate automated data collection picking transaction (wave pick, distributed pick, etc.).
WorkForce Director can also accept and distribute many other tasks, including replenishment, cycle counts and inventory consolidation.
Real-time communication...
Manual tasks can be generated by floor personnel from a mobile device. For example, let’s say a line-side inventory location needs replenishment. The operator accesses the replenishment transaction on a mobile scanner or workstation and scans the inventory location label or Kanban card. The WorkForce Director will generate a replenishment task to the appropriate personnel, first directing them to the inventory location where the required items reside, and then to the location that needs to be replenished.
